What a Move Includes
Every move is handled start to finish by our own Charlotte crew. Whether it is a full relocation across town or a short room-to-room move, the job follows the same careful steps:
- Disassembly: rails, pockets and cloth are taken off and the frame is broken down in the right order.
- Padding and transport: every part is wrapped and padded, then loaded and secured for the drive.
- Slate handling: slate sections are protected and moved separately so they are not cracked or chipped.
- Reassembly and setup: the frame, slate and rails go back together in the new room.
- Leveling: the playing surface is leveled before we leave, so the table rolls true.
- Re-felting if needed: if the old cloth is worn or cannot be saved, we can fit new felt while the table is apart.
Pool table disassembly and reassembly is where most damage happens on a do-it-yourself move, which is why we never skip a step.

What Charlotte Customers Say About Our Moves
Real Google reviews from customers who used our Charlotte crew to move or set up a pool table.
★★★★★I enjoy writing reviews, but only when I can recommend a business that truly earns it. I'd much rather recognize great service than complain, and Classic Home Billiards definitely deserves five stars.
I hired them to move an 8' pool table I purchased on Facebook Marketplace, and everything went smoothly from start to finish. Tina was great to work with by email, providing a detailed estimate and making scheduling easy. They called to confirm the appointment and again when they were on the way.
Bruce and his son handled the move with great care. They expertly disassembled, transported, and reassembled the table, carefully measured the room to position it perfectly, and made sure it was precisely level.
Bruce also shared some history about the table. Although it's an older table, it was built in the USA from solid wood and is made to last. As it turned out, he had installed the new felt on it not long ago. He even touched up a few small dings with a stain pen, and the table now looks almost brand new.
Only after the job was finished did I learn that Bruce and Tina are the owners and that the young man helping Bruce was their son. It's a true family business, and it shows in the quality of their work and the way they treat their customers.
I've since stopped by the showroom and met the manager, Dan. They have a great selection of pool tables, cues, accessories, and even pinball machines.
The pricing was very fair - another company quoted me more than twice as much for the same move. If you're looking for a pool table, accessories, or professional table moving and setup, I highly recommend Classic Home Billiards.
★★★★★Let me tell you that we had the best experience with Classic Home Billiards. The company transported a billiard table 44 miles to my home.
The two young men were efficient, courteous, professional, and thorough.
It was a breeze working with them.
★★★★★These folks are the best! They disassembled my pool table and moved it to a storage room 3 years ago. When it came time to put it back together, thank goodness I found their number, but only after I had gotten a quote from another company for *3 times* more! They were able to fit me in their schedule quickly and even came early! Professional, polite, and fast - don't call anyone else for your pool table needs!
★★★★★Couldn’t be more pleased. Outstanding service. Highly recommend these guys. Just purchased my very first preowned pool table and had them move and install it. It looks great, no damage, is level and they were even able to save the cloth during the move. It was an outstanding experience. Professional and efficient. Price was great for all the work they did especially considering pick up and drop off location was more than an hour apart. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost to move a pool table?
We do not publish set prices because every move is different. The cost depends on the size of the table, whether the slate is one piece or three, how far it is going, and access at both ends, such as stairs or narrow doorways. Call us at the Charlotte showroom or request a quote with those details and we will give you a free, no-obligation quote.
Do you move slate tables?
Yes. Slate tables are most of what we move. We take the table apart, protect each slate section for transport, then reassemble the table and level it in its new room.
Do you re-level the table after the move?
Yes. Leveling is included with every move, so the table plays true in its new home.
Can you move a pool table up or down stairs?
Yes. We regularly carry tables up to bonus rooms and down into basements. Let us know about stairs, tight turns or narrow doorways when you ask for a quote so we can plan the move.
How far in advance should I book a move?
Get in touch as soon as you know your moving date. We work around your schedule and can often fit moves in quickly, but booking early gives you the widest choice of dates.
